Today we’d like to introduce you to Shamelle Reveter.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Shamelle. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.I was inspired to work with artists while working as a background artist in Los Angeles, California. I absolutely love acting. I always have. The desire to pursue my heart’s desire and hone my craft has always been very strong in me. But, how to proceed was the initial dilemma. I concluded that I first needed to put some experience under my belt in order to bring my desire into reality. I wanted to learn—or, simply, just do it!
Unfortunately, I didn’t have the funds to enroll in a great acting school. Luckily for me, however, there was another way! In order to grow as an actress, I decided that entering the arena of background television acting was the best way to go. So, I registered with an agency that would get me to work. I quickly learned that doing background television was truly for the beginner actress. There were many actors who were not registered with an agency. They were usually pursuing a role by responding to a newspaper or television ad. (Imagine the overwhelming responses producers would get!) Again, luckily for me, I had registered with an agency and, at the time, looked the part. Others, unfortunately, were literally waiting hours upon hours to get cast in a particular show. Day after day, I would see the producers come out to the waiting room with their clipboards and headsets. They would point to the people they felt were pretty enough or who were camera-ready and called them forward.
Then, they would line them up according to the positioning of the camera. If you were the prettiest, in their thinking, you would go right in front of the camera. If you were “ok,” you could still get in, but you wouldn’t get much camera time. You were only there to fill in the space. Others would be sent home after waiting hours to get into the studio. It was obvious to me that those who were not considered “pretty” enough would never get in.
Although this never happened to me, it broke my heart thinking about how it hurt the other actors. At this point, I decided that I would create a company that would give every artist an opportunity to show their craft. I would train them myself and help them get on their desired path in entertainment; not just artistically, and business-wise but moreover, with the understanding they are and can be whatever they desire.
In order to effectively and successfully implement this; personal development and mind enhancement is the foundation of all our products and services. Now, after 15 years, I’ve humbly helped over 400 artists develop business acumen, in addition to providing music lessons, entertainment coaching, theatre opportunities, and so much more.
